Smoking cigarettes while drinking

Hey, ive been wondering for very long time right now i dont smoke anymore, but why when i was a big smoker i hated it so much when i have been drunk? maybe anyone knows the science about this? i smoked like 10 cigarettes a day but when i did drink beer or other alcoholic stuff i couldnt smoke it made me sick.
