Best Australian Alcohol for a first-timer

Gday to all my fellow Australians in this subreddit.

I would love to try some alcohol for the first time as my 18th is approaching but dunno what would be best for a first timer.

Should I try hard solo? What about a jack daniels and coke mix? Victorian Bitter? Whats the best lager?
