Is my husband an alcoholic?

My husband loves beer. If I allowed it, he would drink a 6 pack every night. It’s frustrating for me because I feel like it can’t be healthy and I can see how much weight he has gained from drinking. The thing is, he doesn’t get drunk and his personality doesn’t change. He doesn’t treat me badly or speak down to me so when he drinks it doesn’t have a negative affect on our relationship as he acts completely normal. The scary thing is, that he can easily consume 12 beers and you would never know, his tolerance is that great and he doesn’t get rowdy or change in anyway. The only reason it causes fights, is because I come from a family of alcoholism and although I enjoy having a glass of wine after dinner, I can have just one glass a night and stop. He can’t stop and it’s normal for him to have a 6 pack of beer every week night and then to drink double that on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. To me this is alcoholism and to him, it’s just him enjoying his life and he thinks I’m being controlling when I tell him he can’t drink during the week. I’m just really concerned about his health and whether this means he is an alcoholic? He can go without alcohol if I don’t allow him to drink and it’s not like he gets withdraw symptoms. He just enjoys beer so much and sees no issue with the amount he consumes. Am I being silly or is this something to be concerned about?
