Genuine question about how alcohol affects people lol

So this may seem stupid and idk if this is the right sub but just to preface im 19 and I honestly dont drink at all. I grew up around adults who only drink wine and I’ve just never felt the need to drink. I’ll go out to bars with my friends and I have a blast while sober. That being said, I don’t really know how alcohol affects people. My boyfriend is a year younger than me and is going on a senior trip to a resort in Mexico! I didn’t go on my senior trip last year because my family went on a trip to Europe, but my friends told me all about it. You basically just drink all day, go to the club at night, and hook up with everybody and everyone. There’s different schools there too so you can imagine how excited everyone gets lol. Recently, I’ve had friends who have gotten cheated on because their boyfriends were too drunk and “couldn’t tell the girl no” or just didn’t realize (or care?) that they were cheating because they were so drunk. I’m not worried about my boyfriend cheating on me, he’s a great guy and we’ve been dating for 2 years. I guess I’m just wondering if alcohol would make him not realize it’s wrong to kiss/hook up with another girl? Like if a girl came up to him and was all up on him would he not realize it’s wrong if he’s super drunk? Or is that not how it works? I had the impression that even if you were blacked you still knew who your s/o was or wasn’t, but my friends stories have made me nervous.
