How many shots would it take for a beginner to get hungover the next day?

I’m going to a couple Parties with friends over the weekend and wanna have some shots. I haven’t had shots before. How many could I take so I’m not hungover and won’t puke the next day but can still fit in and have fun? Would one be ok?
