Good beginner drinks?

I’ve tried a few sips of friends’ cocktails over the years and they all tasted like absolute ass. Anything I might have better luck with?

(Context, if anyone cares) I’m 24 and never got into drinking – not even a beer on my 21st birthday. Long story, but TL;DR I have hella strict parents. Point is, I’d like my friends to feel like they can invite me out with them to clubs or bars without me being this awkward hovering reminder of sobriety.)
