Vivid hangover hallucinations

I had a heavy night of drinking last night and today, sleep deprived and hanging, whenever I closed my eyes to sleep I kept seeing hallucinations of the people I was drinking with but as if I was still drinking but instead it was midday the day after. I’ve googled this and it says it happens to heavy alcohol consumers but I get drunk once every 2-3 weeks and this drunk like once a year. When I opened my eyes thought the hallucinations stopped and the noises stopped. Can someone who understand this please explain please.
