Can I keep this for 30 years?

Was gifted this for my birthday. I’m not too familiar with sugar cane from Hawaii and don’t regularly drink rum. I’ve heard of the idea of buying a bottle of wine for an occasion and keeping it for the next 30 years then opening it on a 70th birthday or whatever. If I choose to keep the bottle unopened on a shelf somewhere for a few years will the taste of the rum be ruined? Is there a specific way I should save it like keep it in a dark place or at a certain temperature? I appreciate any insight.
