Why does beer pair so well with pretzel and chicken wings?

As evidenced by how that all 3 are so common in the menu of bars that also sell food? What makes the combo of either food and beer so tasty? I can’t go a single time I eat at the nearest bar restaurant without ordering a couple of glasses of beers along with pretzel and wing because the drink and either food alone are just that yummy together (nevermind having all 3 at once)!
