My friend who is 21 was denied sales

My best friend turned 21 a few weeks ago and I took him out to dinner and on the way back we stopped at a liquor store so he could buy some beer , guy looks at his DL and goes “ you just turned 21 today? “ friend says yes, then the guy says to him “ you have to wait 24 hours after turning 21 to buy alcohol “ needless to say we left and he went elsewhere and bought no problem, has this happened to anyone else 😂
