How safe would it be for me to quit cold turkey?

19/M. Im drinking 2 bottles of wine every other day for the last 4 month, however since New Years im drinking that amount every day.. I want to quit today. I heard that serious alcohol withdrawal only happens after longer alcoholism. What can I expect? Is there someone similar to me?
