Alcohol intolerance or allergy?

I’m not a heavy drinker because of the unpleasant symptoms I get, a lot of people say I’m allergic but when I googled it up it seems more like intolerance – albeit a lot more severe compared to other people I know. I know allergy symptoms are generally worse and more painful than intolerance symptoms so that’s why I’m still unsure.

Every time I drink enough for me to get buzzed or full on drunk a rash slowly begins to form hours after drinking. It covers my upper body and inner thighs but doesn’t really look like patches of redness (hives) more like just general redness? Very itchy and painful, burns too. My friends say it looks like a sunburn. And the rash lingers for around a week, with the first few days being painful, red, and itchy, the last few days being extremely itchy but not painful nor red.

I don’t experience any swelling or cramps or difficulties breathing like the allergy symptoms I’ve seen and it doesn’t occur super quickly like most allergies. I might get tested in the future but for the time being I’m curious if anyone experiences anything similar.
