Garlic Breath After Drinking Alcohol

I have been drinking alcohol for 15 years. I used to party a lot but now only drink once or twice a week (weekend). A few months ago my breath started to smell like garlic when drinking alcohol. The day after is always the worse. This used to not happen and I do not have bad breath unless I am drinking. It’s a pretty strong odor. Any idea why this happening and why this just started happening?
