Maybe a stupid question but do you know which wine to buy?

I love the taste of red wine but I don’t really buy it because there’s so many different kinds, it freaks me out. I genuinely cannot taste the difference between wines unless I compare at the same time. I have no idea what I would buy if I walked into a liquor store, it all looks like the same shit to me. I like japanese plum wine so I know I like sweet drinks. but that’s about all. And I have no idea what makes one super cheap and another expensive. It has the same affect on you really so I don’t see the big difference…
