Is a hangover less severe with hair of the dog?

I’ve seen some suggest a little bit the next day for a hangover but I’ve also heard the hangover will still hit you at the same severity. Does it lessen its effects if you draw it out a little more slowly?

I had a bit too much last night and I’m dying over here lol
