Glass Bottle of Gin Breaks Spontaneously
I experienced a scenario i think I can requires a chemist to answer:
I had a tightly packed glass bottle of Gin with me in the car and then all of a sudden…..it just burst! Leaving a perfectly oval-shaped hole 🕳️ on the side of it. Why would this happen?
The bottle of gin was very cold and I happen to live in a very hot country (>35 deg. Celsius at night). Could it possibly be the temperature between the bottle and the outside temperature? However, I also happen to shake the bottle a little bit before taking it with me in my car to see how tightly packed the gin is in the bottle. Could the be the cause?
Please let me know if you need any more info.
