Should I develop a taste for alcohol?

Alright, so I have been interested in making my own wine for quite some time now. Reading books about it and occasionally look online about winemaking. But there is one huge problem that I’m conflicted with. I hate alcohol, it tastes bitter and nasty to me. So I looked around and realized it is an acquired taste, something you develop to tolerate. So I was wondering if developing this taste even worth it? Or should I just drop the idea of winemaking and try something else?
