How do I drink this?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I saw these mini bottles of alcohol and one was a Mexican mudslide and it looked good (coffee+chocolate+rum? Nice) I took a drink and it is insanely strong and sweet (atleast for me). Am I supposed to mix it with something? Is it supposed to be like this?
