Alternatives for beers in bars?

I recently discovered I have a nasty allergic reaction to beer after (unconsciously) being sober for several years. I’m wondering what’s a good alternative when having drinks with coworkers. I usually resort to gin&tonic, but that’s mainly because that’s the only drink I know besides wine and cocktails, for which it is not the setting.

When coworkers are going to a bar and having beers, what’s a decent, simply drink to order instead?
