Why does vodka give the worst hangover?

Its supposed to be to more forgiving. Drank 6-8 shots and my head hurts like hell. Whisky on the other hand with all of the “congeners”. Even rum or scotch as well and I’m usually fine. I always avoid it for this reason but everyone tells oh really? Vodka gives the least hangovers. It’s the first drink I ever experimented with and there’s no hangover as painful. I feel like I just drank the whole bottle. I swear they make this congener stuff up.
