Diageo Announces 2023 Distillers Edition Scotches

Diageo North America has unveiled the 2023 Distillers Edition in the U.S., an annual release of limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskies that are double-matured in different types of cask wood.

This year’s Distillers Edition collection consists of six releases from Scotch distilleries throughout the Islands, Speyside, the Highlands and the Lowlands: Lagavulin, Talisker, Cragganmore, Oban, Dalwhinnie and Glenkinchie.

Only one batch of each whisky is produced per year. The latest collection features a new label design for each malt which incorporates elements representative of each distillery and its core expressions.

The Distillers Edition has come out annually since 1997. The second maturation of these whiskies takes place in batches, using individually prepared casks that have held a specially selected fortified wine. Each batch takes months to mature.

All six Distillers Edition bottlings are now available in the U.S. at retail stores or for online purchase and home delivery at Drizly.com. Accompanied by Diageo-provided tasting notes, the 2023 collection includes:

Oban Distillers Edition

Paired with Montilla Fino-seasoned casks for a sweet creamy-smooth enhancement to the fruity and salty Oban style.

Talisker Distillers Edition

Amoroso-seasoned casks impart a rounded, fruity sweetness, complementing the crisp, dry peat-smoke and pepperiness.

Sweetness from Pedro Ximenez-seasoned casks is integrated with the dark smokiness, salt and oak-spice.
