“Today is a beautiful day. I’ve never seen this day before. I’m grateful for waking up with no toe tag and not seeing my name in the obituaries. Just for today I’m making a decision to not pick up that first drink, no matter what. Today I get to go to an early meeting and hopefully help someone else who may be struggling. A morning meeting first thing gets my head right for the rest of the day and it will only take up 4% of my day. A small price to pay for another day of serenity. I’ve never gone back out when I’ve gone to a morning meeting.”
