Help me figure out the name of this stuff

Had a random old memory resurface yesterday regarding a liquor that an old friend would always try to make people shoot at his place.

I can’t actually recall if I had it (if I did, it tasted fine, not vile or anything) and just remember that the name was a little goofy, like it just sounded like it would be trouble.

It’s possible it’s something mostly made in central and/or South America – his wife was from Panama and they loved everything about that place – food, beverage, etc.

Any ideas? Feel free to just throw some names out – I know I’d recognize it if I see it.
