Review: Bitburger 0.0%
Iconic Bavarian brewer Bitburger is the latest operation to join the non-alcoholic beer movement, with this expression joining Bitburger Premium Pils as only the second beer from Bitburger available in the U.S.
Very malty on the nose, this beer features a toasty, cereal-driven palate that evokes flavors of cracked wheat, white pepper, and grains of paradise. A gentle, dried lemon peel note adds some citrus, but the rather extreme bitterness can be both surprising and overwhelming. This punchiness helps to mask the non-alcitude of the brew, and it can make for a cleansing character, but it culminates in a bit of a one-note finish.
B+ / $10 per four-pack of 500ml cans
