Looking to give cognac another shot Any recommendations?

I tried cognac a couple of times when I was around 20–21 and didn’t like it at all. But since then my palate has changed a lot — I enjoy black coffee, Guinness, and other stronger flavors now that I didn’t back then If I wanted to try cognac again with a more mature palate, what would you recommend as a good starting bottle? I’d probably be sipping it neat.Budget-friendly options appreciated too.
