Just turned 21 – Advice?
I (M, 21, 6’2”, 180lbs) finally decided to try alcohol last week after having an aversion to it growing up. I had a pretty decent amount over the course of about 5 hours, but I felt almost nothing cognitively.
What I drank (over ~5 hours):
• White Wine: 1 glass (maybe 8-10oz)
• Soju: 2 full bottles
• Sake: About 4oz.
The Experience:
The only physical effect I felt was that my eyes felt a bit “heavy.” Mentally, I felt completely sharp, I even beat a sober friend at chess to prove I wasn’t impaired. I did eat two chicken sandwiches while drinking the wine, so I’m wondering if that “soaked up” the alcohol, or if it’s normal to not feel much the very first time?
For someone my size, does this sound like a high natural tolerance, or did the 5-hour window and the food just keep the BAC too low to feel a “buzz”? And as far as drinking in the future what would you recommend?
