how can i make a liquor and a soda that don’t match taste good together?

i have some vodka that’s a little too strong without mixing it, but i don’t have any light colored sodas, only dr pepper. and i learned a while back that light liquors pair well with light soda and dark liquor pairs with dark soda. so is there any way to make this strong light liquor pair well with dr pepper?
