Review: American Harvest Vodka

American Harvest Vodka hails from Idaho, and that means it’s gotta be made from potatoes, amirite? Sorry, folks: This is a red winter wheat distillate, organic and non-GMO at that, proofed with local water drawn from the Snake River Plain. No additives.

American Harvest Vodka Review

The nose of the vodka is extremely clean, ethanol dominant but inoffensive, with secondary aromas difficult to parse. Time in glass showcases a hint of almond and the lightest expression of lemon peel — but otherwise it’s extremely neutral.

The palate keeps the mark where it stands: Clean almost to a fault, with a crisp acidity enhanced by a touch of bitter lemon and the lightest bite of green grass, with a gentle sweetness eventually wafting in as the finish arrives. It’s hard to fault American Harvest for much because it’s such a quiet and soft experience that it practically dissolves into nothing as it fades away on the tongue. Mix it with anything and I can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed with the finished product.

80 proof.
