Trying to gage society
I will freely admit that posting anything ever on reddit has been a thought that i found an interesting concept for a very llong time. Breaking passive reader/listiner virginity here.
But i admit, while also tipsy, where this lands on the scale of how people consume alcohol.
So i admit to like drinking. Between many other vices i’ve goven up, it’s the one that is around and fuck it, life is short and i’m not perfect.
I grew up in a family where drinking alone was considered bad. I do think the way we drink is heavily influenced by pop culture. Had a long day? Pour yourself a measure of borubon. Stressed? 2 fingers of whiskey. Celebrating? Ever gone for the weird ass shots that scream “terrible hangover danger” with how colourful it is?
But i fully admit – since i have tried but never really grown to like clubbing – that i just really enjoy opening a bottle and reading a book.
I also get super social, hence the post since badgering friends right now is not an option i have. But if i’m frank? Beyond the “hey, it’d be nice to casually chat on and off while i do this other thing”, i really just enjoy reading while drinking.
Where does the rest of the populace stand on this? Super weird? More common than expected? Terrible coping habits frames as a scewed hobbits dream? I’m curious.
Thanks for reading!
