Why does my vodka taste weird after unconventional storing

I hid my vodka in a field for a month and when I opened it later it tasted weird with an aftertaste of dirt BUT the bottle was closed cleanly inside a plastic bag and there was no dirt inside, do you think it went bad from the inside or did the dirt somehow infiltrate it? maybe it’s important to note that it rained quite a bit.
