I enjoy wine until I’m asked to choose it anyone else?

I enjoy wine in low-pressure settings at home, with friends, casually but the second I’m asked to choose it, something shifts. A wine list, a shop shelf, a waiter waiting suddenly all the enjoyment disappears and it feels like there’s a right and wrong answer.

It’s strange because I know what I like, I drink wine regularly and trust my taste in private. But in public, that confidence evaporates. Labels, regions, prices, expectations everything starts to feel louder than my own preferences. Instead of thinking about what I’ll enjoy I start worrying about whether the choice will be judged. What confuses me most is that this doesn’t happen with other drinks or even food. Wine seems to carry this invisible pressure that turns a simple decision into a mental spiral. Curious if anyone else feels this or if you’ve figured out how to keep wine fun when you’re the one who has to pick it.
