A hangover STRATEGY
I’m almost 40 and I used to love being drunk but now I have ptsd from hangovers. For…science…I’ve battled the ptsd and experimented and found one resounding truth (at least for me).
If you slowly build up to a big night with a few drinks each day you will avoid the worst hangovers. You still have to follow all the other rules and you’ll still be tired but no devastation or multi day hangovers that some of us loath.
Example: I plan to get hammered in 3 days time so will have 1.5 drinks tonight, 3 drinks tomorrow, and then let er rip on day 3.
You need to tweak the strategy for yourself obviously. I know I’ve done this perfectly if I feel a tiny tiny bit hungover on day 2. For me it’s worth it for being allowed to get fully drunk without the fear of two days in hell. I still recommend pre-hydrating, eating food, and staying up a few hours after your last drink. For me even I do all the things your supposed to I get raging hangovers from as little as 3 drinks.
I think this works by stimulating your body to ramp up its production of alcohol / acetaldehyde dehydrogenase instead of going from 0 to 60.
