Review: Tomorrow Non-Alcoholic Wines, 2025 Releases
Tomorrow is a California-based non-alcoholic wine brand, with a focus on “rethinking the entire winemaking process” and making NA products without additives. Instead, the operation focuses on particularly flavorful grapes like viognier and petite sirah. Its expressions are vintage dated, with fruit hailing from all over the state.
Thoughts on the inaugural run of the three Tomorrow expressions follows.
2024 Tomorrow Sparkling Blanc de Rhone California – A marsanne-led blend of white grapes, sparkling. Crisp and lively with strong notes of pear and, to a lesser extent, peach, with gentle florals lingering. The fizz helps the flavors to coalesce and integrate, and the wine maintains an even, fruit-forward keel throughout the experience, although the finish is definitely on the short side. Sparkling wines are always your best bet when it comes to non-alc offerings, and Tomorrow’s rendition only drives that point further home. A- / $30
2024 Tomorrow Rhone Blanc California – Made from marsanne and viognier, among other Rhone varietals. Very well-crafted, the wine shows the peachy orchard fruit and honeysuckle-heavy floral notes expected of a Rhone style white, complete with gentle notes of sesame oil and some marjoram. A light slick of watered-down honey informs a gently sweet and bright finish. One of the best NA white wines I’ve encountered to date. A / $25
2023 Tomorrow Red Blend California – Build around petite sirah, you might expect this wine to be burly and powerful. Alas, alcohol removal makes that pretty much impossible, and this expression drinks roughly in line with other NA reds I’ve encountered — light as a feather and mostly focused on fruit. Cherries and strawberries offer a fairly sunny disposition up front, with a light rhubarb kick adding a bit of sourness in the late game. There’s zero tannin on display, but a touch of balsamic gives the finish a bit of a kick, at least. B / $30
