Sludge in my liqueur

I made a rose hip infused liqueur (recipe was 4 cups fruit, 3 cups sugar, fifth of vodka). As I shook and stirred it for a month to infuse everything, a filmy goop started to settle every time I shook it. It slowly got larger until I strained everything out after a month.

The sludge not only made it through the fabric filter, but seemed to grow/shift over time without me moving the bottle. Attached are pics of the sludge.

Is this a bacteria or growth or something, and is there a way to kill it or filter it out or is my liqueur a lost cause?
