2nd time drinking question

Hello. I’m in my late 20’s and I’ve only ever drank alchahol once when I was 19. Tonight I want to try having a couple drinks with my significant other while watching a movie or two. I dont like the taste of alchahol so I wanted to make mixed drinks (screwdrivers?). What kind of vodka should I get for this? So far google has told me not to buy stuff like smirnoff because it’ll make the drink taste stronger? I know next to nothing about mixed drinks. Thanks in advance.
