Arms hurting after a single sip of alcohol?

I know this may sound weird, but I haven’t found a single person who shares my experience so I might as well ask here.

I’m 27F, normal weight and not overall a big drinker – I’d describe my habit as drinking often, but not much. So I’ll have a 1-3 drinks every couple of days, even at home, but I rarely ever drink more than that or get drunk.

Usually, when I take the first sip or two of an alcoholic beverage, within the same minute or two, I will experience a sharp pain in my arm muscles, starting from the shoulders and going down to the wrists. It happens almost every time, it’s always in both arms and it always starts and stops in the same place. Never goes beyond shoulder or wrist, so not into my neck or hands. Never happened in any other body part except both arms.

I can describe the pain as kind of pain and burning in my muscles and veins. Almost like my veins are expanding or contracting really fast, but I’d sooner say expanding. Like there’s a blood rush through my arms that is so fast and strong that it hurts. Could that be it? I don’t actually feel the blood rushing, just muscle pain.
The pain goes away after 1-2 minutes and I can continue to drink normally with no other side-effects. It doesn’t repeat again, until the next 1st sip of alcohol days later. It always happens when alcohol first enters my system, but only then. The pain is stronger if the alcohol is stronger (eg. beer vs. wine)

I know some people with an alcohol allergy can get very red in the face and get flushed in some body parts, but I experience none of that. Literally, I experience no other weird side effects related to drinking, just the weird arm pain.

Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?
