Is this alcoholism?

My BF (41,m) has been drinking 6 liters of beer and half a bottle every 3rd day. He plays video games, sometimes starting at 16 pm till 2-3 am. The next day he sleeps till 11 o’clock and he is supposed to be at work (works online). He doesn’t seem to have problem with that,he always tells me he can drink a lot without a problem. I don’t find it OK for someone to drink such an amount of alcohol every 2-3 days. He is eager to sit on his PC and play the game but it’s always accompanied with alcohol. When we are away on a vacation he also drinks a lot of alcohol, beers and wine. He can drink up to 8 liters of beer per day. Is that alcoholism? I don’t think he can handle more than a week without alcohol. I also think he has screen addiction, he is always on PC, phone or TV.
