Alcohol and Cigarettes

Why is this combo nice together? I understand that alcohol is a depressant and nicotine is a stimulant— but how exactly do they interact with each other?

When im hella drunk, I could smoke a singular cigarette and that shit hits me like a bag of bricks by Bad Rudi himself. Can someone smarter than me answer this?

Or at least give their own assumptions/opinions? Thanks.
