brain fog after drinking

Hello everyone, I’m posting this to see if anyone has experience or medical knowledge that could help. A week ago, I went to a party with friends at night, where I drank a bit more than usual, but I didn’t get excessively drunk—just loosened up a little. I had vodka with orange juice before going to the party, and vodka with an energy drink once we were there. Since the next day, or the second day after, I’ve been feeling different: foggy-minded and having trouble concentrating, a bit anxious, struggling to remember some things both short- and long-term, and I’d even say that my senses—like touch, taste, or hearing—don’t feel 100%. I also feel like it’s a bit harder to speak because I mix up some letters, or to reason clearly. I’m not completely apathetic because I still laugh or feel sadness, but I do feel like I’m not at 100%.

This is the third time this has happened to me. The other times, it took me 7 to 10 days to recover. The thing is, there have been many other times I’ve drunk alcohol, and this didn’t happen—even when I drank more than on this occasion.

Does anyone know if this is normal? The causes? How to avoid it or speed up recovery? Why does it happen sometimes when I drink alcohol, even more than this time, and other times not? Should I see a specialist?
