Drink of the Week: Fall Negroni

With thousands of bars around the world celebrating Negroni Week this year in support of the mission and work of Slow Food, bartenders are taking the opportunity to flex their creative muscles and spotlight their own Negroni twists, and Aviation, the official American gin of Negroni Week, created three of its own variations just for the occasion.

Simple and perfect for the season, this Fall Negroni (created for Aviation by Los Angeles bartender Brandyn Tepper) adds a rich, nutty component to the classic with a pour of walnut liqueur. The Campari is dialed back a notch while a couple dashes of bitters add a touch of baking spice. Mixed with the American-style gin—which features botanicals, citrus, spice, and floral notes—the Fall Negroni is an approachable cocktail ideal for sweater weather. Be sure to sip one before Negroni Week comes to a close, and head to negroniweek.com to find participating bars near you.
