When is it okay to drink after taking Xanax

I had a busy work day and had a presentation to give so I took a .5mg Xanax (prescribed) at 8am and I have a buddy coming over to watch the game tonight and we usually have 3-4 MAYBE 5 beers during this time. Would it be okay to have some beers starting at probably 6-7pm ish?
