Looking for help with alcohol-making equipment progression (for a video game)

I’m working on a video game where players can craft their own alcohol: moonshine, beer, wine, etc. I’m trying to make equipment progression system where players start with very basic gear and work their way up to more professional setups.

I’ve never actually crafted alcohol in real life so could use some guidance.

I’d like suggestions for:

What equipment could exist at beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels.

What kinds of drinks each setup could realistically make.

For example:

Beginner: Makeshift stuff like a can, a bucket, or a simple pot still= results in low-quality, “shady” alcohol.

Intermediate: Small homebrew kit, carboys, basic copper still= makes decent beer, wine, or cleaner spirits.

Advanced: Fully equipped distillery or brewery setup = makes high-quality products and specialty drinks.

This is purely for a fictional game, so realism can be flexible, but I’d like to keep it inspired by real-life processes. I’m also trying to keep setups simple so they’re easier to implement in-game.

Tips? 😅
