Why do I and my friend not get drunk like most people do?
Not sure where else to post it so remove it if this isn’t the place.
Me and my friend were recently chatting about booze (and other substances) and I brought up how I’ve never blacked out, whited out, greened out… any of the things I’ve heard of. I always remember stuff the day after. I also never lose my awareness / sensibility or at least not to the degree other do. She explained she had the same experiences.
For reference, I’ve been so drunk I physically couldn’t walk and so high on weed it felt like my face was melting and I was lifting off into the sky. I rem ember both evenings as if they are ordinary memories.
I have a friend I drink with a lot, he will frequently get drunk and proceed to say or do things he’s openly admitted he wouldn’t do sober. In fact he’ll often tell me things with the line of ‘I’m only saying this cause I won’t remember it’ added on after, and he’s right because the next morning he has no memory. Part of me wishes I could do this because when IM drunk, I remember it all and I don’t lost my awareness / inhibitions, I’m still aware of what I should say / do and the things happening around me.
I’m just curious as to why I’m like this compared to others? Is it genetic? Environmental? I do have both physical and mental health conditions if that affects it?
