How alcohol fits into the ancestral diet
Been reading on how diets treat alcohol, and got intrigued into the paleo scope. While the strict paleo sticks into the ancient way of living, the kind of feeding on veggies, fruits, no processed foods and added sugars what we mostly embrace is the modified paleo which occasionally makes room for a glass of wine, especially red. Dry reds like pinot noir, cabernet and merlot are generally lower in sugar and higher in anti-oxidants like resveratrol which has some anti-inflammatory benefits.
There’s a debate about whether our ancestors drank fermented fruit, but of course wine making kicked in during the Neolithic era, so technically it’s a no. I don’t think if a moderate glass of wine here and there would break an ancestral kind of living for those who prefer it. Just curious if anyone here has found wines they feel good about drinking while sticking to the paleo diet.
