Is boxed wine a decent way to get into wine, or is it all junk?

Hey all. I’m trying to learn more about wine but the bottle prices are a little intimidating. I was thinking of starting with boxed wine since it’s cheaper and I wouldn’t feel pressured to finish a whole bottle. Is the quality any good these days, or is it mostly just for parties? Looking for advice on whether this is a good path for a beginner
