Gift/ thought

Ok so I want to get a cooling gift for my gfs father (retired military Colonel) . Here is my idea (tell me if it’s a good one or if there is a better way)

So I’ve been dating my gf for about a year and I have the makings of a plan to purpose next year ish. So since I am going to meet her father in about 2 weeks (before you ask she’s in my city for college and he lives across the country) . What if I bought him a small aging keg kit and we can fill the keg next week and I can tell him leave it sit until a special occasion.

The only problem with that is I don’t know how long the aging process takes in those small kegs

Also I don’t (can’t) drink due to health issues.
