How to have conversations with family about drinking

Home with my folks for the summer months to save some money on rent, and I do drink a few nights a week, although I don’t make noise, I mostly just stay in my space and keep to myself. I have no issues with alcohol abuse, and work 70-80 hours a week with no problems. I am well above the age of 21 as well.

My mum is not supportive of drinking, and although she isn’t entirely against it, she is not a big fan, although she ironically does have a couple beers a couple nights a week. Long story short, just got off a 12-13 hour shift, and when I went to make a drink for the holiday weekend, planning to watch the fireworks in my neighborhood, my liquor bottle was missing, and had been poured out and left in the recycling.

How do I have a quality conversation about her about this? Due to some past experiences in her life she correlates any sort of liquor with heavy alcohol abuse. In her mind, liquor = alcoholism, although beer is completely fine lol.
