Question about preventing liver damage
I’m a 26 year old woman. 5’4, 116 pounds. I drink at least 20 drinks a week and have been doing this for like four years now. My social life is pretty much built around alcohol (I never drink alone) so I don’t really want to curb my drinking more than limiting to 20 drinks a week.
I’ve decided to get yearly liver bloodwork and Fibroscans done to ensure I can tell if I’m getting any liver damage now or over time. Is that a good plan? Would this prevent any possibility of true cirrhosis down the line?
Alcohol is my one vice. I’m very healthy otherwise and culturally I don’t want to give it up unless I really have to.
