Does anyone else experience having completely strange and different reactions in their body drinking one liqour as opposed to another even when they’re seemingly very similar?

I got a bottle of vodka recently that I had never tried before. It was Haku Japanese craft vodka, and I was very excited to try it due to being made with rice and filtered through bamboo. I had an amount that is very normal for me. Around 6 shots worth total over a 5 hour period. I don’t know what happened, but it messed me up beyond belief for no reason. It got me violently Ill and I had diarrhea and was vomiting nothing but bile for hours upon hours. It also gave me back and forth hot and cold flashes that made life hell for a bit. It had to have been the liqour because my brother who drank it with me had the exact same experience. I’ve had a similar thing happen to me in the past with other liqours, and I just didn’t ever try them again. Could it be an allergy or sensitivity to something in some of them? Has anyone had this happen?
