Plans for a more responsible, moderate, and ‘healthier’ way of drinking as we get older

And don’t think most people can drink like they did when they were young, especially in college (our bodies cannot take the abuse many of use through at our body, but being young we were so resilient). And should for health, career, family reasons. But alcohol still is enjoyable, a social lubricant that binds us, so cutting it off (if not addicted to it) really has negative effects socially and romantically.

So finding a happy medium is where I was wondering. My take:

1) Drink only for taste and not to get intoxicated (ie never drink and maybe a very light buzzz)

2)only 2-3 units of drinks a say 2 nights day a week (2 beers at a bbq/game, 2 marquirtas or 2 glasses of wine with guac/chips at dinner or a movie night etc)

3)before and after drinking, drink tons of water and take vitamins or electrolyte water

Thoughts on these rules to drink alcohol in the most reasonable healthiest way possible as we age and to prevent health, work, family/relationship issues with too much drinking
